Mapua Physics faculty attends the 3rd APCTP Alumni Scientific Symposium in Busan, Korea.

Dr. Rayda Gammag and Dr. Carlos Baldo attended the 3rd Asia-Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP) Alumni Scientific Symposium held last October 16 – 19, 2019 in Busan, Korea. 

Dr. Gammag is an alumna of the said institute after her Ph.D. graduation and before joining the Physics Department in 2015 while Dr. Baldo is a post-doctoral fellow at APCTP since October 2018.  They both presented their current progress in research on computational condensed matter physics and spintronics.  Dr. Gammag also highlighted the quick growth of BS Physics program and its double degrees in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering here in Mapúa University.  The BS Physics program was first offered in 2016 with only seven students but it now has more than 100 students.♦
